This topic seems more fit for this category than others. My maternal grandfather, Walter Bronson, was a railroader who passed away in 1939 of a heart attack at age 48. My mother always said he worked for the New York Central, but was not specific about his job. A few years back, my oldest sister gave me a framed photo of him, sitting inside a building with a bay window. The shades are drawn and he's wearing a kepi type hat with a sack coat. In the corner behind him is a clipboard with the Erie's logo on it. While in Salt Lake City this month, I looked him up on the 1930 census and discovered he was a dispatcher. It fits the photograph, but my question is, for which railroad did he work? He lived and worked in Syracuse, NY. The Central was the big show in town, but the Erie had a connecting line that went up there. Would they have had a dispatcher located there? Any help or info will be greatly appreciated.

Did they have a interchange yard where a NYC dispatcher might have been keeping track of Erie trains?
