Staten Island Alcp S1's

These two locomotives, used from 1947, were retired recently by the Staten Island operation of the New York City MTA.   They were used for work service, but originally were in freight service as well for the B&O.   Does anyone know of their disposition?  They were replaced recently.  They were used occasionally on passenger fan trips, pulling the subway-like mu cars (the B&O's mu's were very sinilar to the standard BMT "steels" and a few were used on the BMT after WWII to end the use of wood gate cars, and the present mu's are modified R-44 subway cars).   I assume one will go the B&O museum?  Very long-lasting locomotives, a tribute to their reliability.

Dave,

do you know when they were retired?

I have both listed on my NY Alcos page:

http://gold.mylargescale.com/Scottychaos/NY-Alcos/

SIR 407 - Alco S1 - ex LIRR.

SIR 821 - Alco S2 - ex US Army 821.

I still have both listed as "operating"..obviously that is no longer accurate! I will update the page..anyone know for a fact if they have left Staten Island?

thanks,

Scot
