Blowing Out the Dry Pipe
Posted by nicknoyes on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 12:16 PM
In the December issue of TRAINS in the Preservation column on page 57, mentions blowing out the dry pipe and cylinder “saddle”. What does that mean and how did they do that?

Just means removing condensation if the locomotive is going to be sitting for a while.  Prevents rust and--heaven forbid--freezing.
