Going to try to hit all the train activities there this weekend.  Wish me luck.  Wife and twins love to slow things down.

Ever been to Strasburg?

If not, you'll have lots of fun!

Be sure NOT TO MISS the noon shop tour. Lots of info there.

And of course the RailRoad museum of PA.

ANd two good hobbyshops...whats not to like?

 HO and N Scale.

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

Go to youtube and search for Strasburg. You will find some good videos and some not so good. But most all of them will demonstrate the Strasburg Experience.

Spend a day or two. It is about as good as it's going to get for steam, I have not been there in two decades or more but recall the D Class 4-4-0 (Now in museum across street) that did very well for it's time.

In good weather, try the open car. We used the "Hello Dolly" car in our time, I think they built or rebuilt several more since then. You are going to get some grit into clothes from time to time, wear pratical clothes.

Nearby Lancaster is land of food and drink. Lots of Dutch Cooking and ye aint gonna leave the area hungry.

Good luck!

We hit everything.  Didn't get the shop tour tho.  Stopped at the outlets on the way.  Then Issacs for lunch.  All the shops in that center.  Skipped the Choo-Choo barn since we saw that last year.  Went directly to the Toy train museum.  Didn't see the freight cars I was given a long time ago, but the Marx loco was there.  My toys might make it in a museum???  Maybe.  Then checked in next door at the Red Caboose.  Bounced over to the railroad to ride the big train and the boys fell asleep on the ride.  Back to Red Caboose for dinner, the movie projected on the barn's side and finally, sleep.

Today, breakfast at the motel, everything opens at noon, so we hit the playgound etc.  On to the big trains museum.  Late lunch back at the "Dining Car cafe"(Strasburg RR's fast food spot) and then a ride on the Cagney.  Whoo-hoo!  Train addicts overdose!
