@dredmann<br />That's the problem with sources: It's from "Joe G. Colias" "Big Boy&Co.". It is written before the final last years of steam and really nice. Yet, he appears more an author to me, than a technician.<br /><br />To quote you: "whether there was some problem that essentially prohibited simple operation at more than a few mph, or there was a problem generating enough steam to keep up with the demands of those big front cylinders, if you feed them with high-pressure steam directly from the boiler"<br /><br />We can exclude that, right?<br /><br />How about 2 lines for the Y6 on the table: TE at simple at full speed range and one of compound?<br /><br />Can somebody tell us?<br /><br />lars
