Hello,

I am looking for current photos of Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad 0-1A Mikados #4994 (In Texas) and #4963 at the Illinois Railroad Museum.

I have searched for photos and info on the 4994 but I have found no photos and almost no information. I will keep searching though, but I need help. As for the 4963, I have had better luck but I have been really busy and haven't had much time to look, so help would be greatly appriciated.

Cheese

Nick! :)

4994 is now numbered as Fort Worth and Denver (FW&D) #401. It sits at the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock, TX. Here's a small bit of info on it and how it got there from their website.

Here's one picture I found of it:

A little fun with the bird's eye view in msn maps shows you everything. This link will take you to Lubbock. Find Texas Tech University. The locomotive and cattle cars are just north of Hwy 82 (Brownfield Highway), east of Indiana Ave, and south of 4th st. Once you get to this area, click on bird's eye. Actually click aerial first until you can see it and then click bird's eye. You can then move around, rotate views and even zoom in.

I think CB&Q 4963 is indoors now at the Illinois Railway Museum so while pictures of it are floating around, it's probably going to be hard to find a current full shot of it.
