SOO LINE 2718
Posted by nssr9169 on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 9:26 PM

I was wondering if anyone knows more information on this engine. I saw some old footage of the locomotive moving under its own power at I think what was the National Railroad museum in Green Bay in the late 1960's maybe. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me a little more on when it made its last run. My interest was spurred on when the Lake Superior Railroad Museum that I work for started to operate her sister 2719, boy she is amazing at 45mph!

According to the information I have, the 2718 was sidelined in the late 60's due to some minor mechanical issues, and never turned a wheel since...so typical of NRM.

I'll dig up some more info if I can find it.
