When DART put the Ligh Rail in Dallas the people here said they did not want it either. But, now that it is here, they all love it and want more of it.

As desctibed in the article, the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) did indeed purchase the Oasis Line in 1994. What is not noted is that SORTA also purchased the I&O Blue Ash Line in 1996. This line is proposed for a light rail system, not the Oasis Line, which was incorrectly stated.
To comment that the Oasis Line was purchased "for the light-rail project that Cincinnati voters still don't want" is editorializing and incorrect. The voters have never been asked to support funding for light rail in Cincinnati, although that may change in November 2002. While local funding for new light rail transit projects is always a challenge and uncertain, polls have consistently shown strong support of the idea of light rail in the Cincinnati region.
