Cheyenne is a pretty hotspot for the UP. Anytime between April and October of any year is a safe time to go. The storms can be wicked up there. As always be cautious about trespassing and endangerment issues. Enjoy your visit there. <br /> <br />I understood Cheyenne to be a division point for the railroad that was founded when a group of horsemen stopped at that area and the Boss in charge of locating a place threw his hatchet down to the ground and said "This will be Cheyenne by God!" during a winter storm.
