It's been a long time, but I used to live in Cheyenne as a kid. Almost every weekend, my dad and I would go sit by the crossover, where the old (single track) BN line passed over the multi-track UP line on the southwest side of town. Never saw too many BN trains, but plenty of UP freights to keep things exciting. Other folks likely have good updated info on traffic and accessability in that spot today, but it sure was an awesome place 30 years ago! Also, you must just go down to the old depot...a classic structure! Have fun!
