I'm not sure about a 30' RV. The lot doesn't seem to be set up for RVs, and getting in and out could be tricky. Maybe I'll drive past on the way home and take a look-see. There is a spot just West of the diamonds (along the UP) I've seen truckers stop for the night. There might be some electric plus which suggest that maybe RV parking is OK Sorry i do not have a phone number Dave Nelson Reply Anonymous Member sinceApril 2003 305,205 posts Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 29, 2005 8:39 PM they have an ad in the back of Trains Magazine, p 108 current issue phone 815-562-8107 124 N 9th Street, Rochelle,IL I would guess that you could back the motor home in near the giftshop which is at the east end of the parking lot. The viewing stand is at the west end. The lot has about 20 to 30 parking spaces, p lus a few barbeque stands. My wife even liked it. You cold also call Rochelle tourism at 815-562-7031 or www.rochellerailroadpark.tripod.com Reply Edit Soo2610 Member sinceJanuary 2001 From: US 354 posts Posted by Soo2610 on Thursday, September 29, 2005 11:16 PM I don't think it would be a problem. A lot of people park there overnight. Reply Anonymous Member sinceApril 2003 305,205 posts Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, October 15, 2005 7:37 PM Hate to be a wet blanket, but there are posted rules that the park is not to be used for overnight camping. (The rules go on to mention that "trainwatching all night from a car" was permitted.) But the rules specifically negate using tents. It would probably be wise to query about the use of your travel vehicle, since it could well be heir to the same "what if everybody did it?" kind of logic.. Try the e-mail on the Rochelle RR Park brochure. I think it's ATSF525@aol.com If it's no go there must be SOMEWHERE nearby to park such a vehicle. The tourism people seem to be accommodating as far as furnishing information. Their phone number is (815) 562-4198. (no e-mail listed on Rochelle RR Park flyer) allen Reply Edit rdettmer Member sinceSeptember 2004 From: northern il. 142 posts Posted by rdettmer on Thursday, October 20, 2005 6:14 PM is the camera broken? i don"t seem to be able to watch it anymore Reply Anonymous Member sinceApril 2003 305,205 posts Posted by Anonymous on Monday, October 24, 2005 7:02 PM Took the motorhome to Rochelle and stayed two days.
