Good day, new to the forum.
My son has taken a very keen interest in Trains as of late and thats all he wants to see if Trains.
I have been trying to find some assistance on where i could take him on a Saturday or Sunday where we could view as many trains as possible running in a short a period of time as possible.
We live in the Halton Area of Ontario.
Or any suggestions on where I could take him to see other attractions would be appreciated.
bwhitt-- Burlington at Brant St. Easy to find, double underpass with the tracks above, road to the left ( pointing north) takes you up to trackside. This is the site of the former station. 3 Track mainline Windsor/Sarnia to Toronto and points East is joined right there with junction of the 2 track Halton subdivision which is trains from the North and West of the country. Lots of trains, lots of easy to see signals, plenty of safe room to park a car and old platforms still exist. There is a Timmies around the corner a bit and a Second Cup across the street, both with drive thru's.
Also Bayview Junction about 8km up toward Hamilton on Plains Road. Lots of railfans there all the time. Exit Royal Botanical Gardens. Look for railfans and signs. It is a very popular spot...just Google Bayview Junction and you will find it super easy.
In between the 2 is Aldershot yard, a GO transit stop, also good.
A bit of yard action in addition to a gazillion trains.
Hundreds of trains each day, somewhat less on weekends.
