Toronto Railfanning Advice?
Posted by pkazmir on Thursday, March 14, 2013 1:35 AM

Hi,

I'm going to be travelling to the Toronto area next week on business, and I would love any advice you might have on railfanning while I'm there. (I'll Google as well, of course.)

Thanks!

Hi Peter- There are numerous places to watch trains here. There is a pedestrian overpass at the Rogers Centre ballpark at the foot of John st. where you can watch GO Transit and VIA trains pull in and out of Union Station as well as the occasional freight. If you're here on a Thursday, I think that's when 'The Canadian" leaves for Vancouver, and that train is a sight! Domes and an observation car! If you have a car, there are the huge CN and CP yards north of the city and east of Toronto in the suburbs, they both parallel each other on the south side of Highway 401 and they're both busy as hell.
