I've been wondering about how many of the grains lines in southern Saskatchewan are still operating or have been pulled up. I know the line from Moose Jaw to the USA border crossing at North Portal/Portal is used heavily by Canadian Pacific to get trains to the Twin Cities & Chicago but know little if anything about the rest of the lines.

Some years ago a fellow hiked along a Canadian Pacific rail line in south western Saskatchewan but didn't mention if any trains went by as he hiked along it. I've seen Canadian National run grain trains though their line in Moose Jaw but they were talking about abandoning those lines some years ago.
