Hi,

I'm doing a research paper on the Conrail purchase of 1998, and the affects it had on each of the companies involved. So far I've gathered much information and covered the history of each company, and I'm currently going into detail about the purchase and division of CR. What I need next is a look at what is next to come for CSX and NS in the future in terms of technology, railroads, plans, etc. It would be much appreciated if a few of you could fill out this short questionaire so that I may use it in my paper, especially if you are currently a worker for CSX/NS or a former worker for CSX/NS/CR. Please use complete sentences so I may cite quotes. If you would not like your name to be displayed on this forum, please email me the questionaire at TheApostle@Local529.com. Again, I really appreciate it, and thank you for your time.

Chris.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Questions:

What is your name? Are you currently or were you formerlly employed by CSX, Norfolk Southern, or formerly Conrail? If so, what is/was your job position. How long were you with the company?

NS EMPLOYEES

Do you forsee any advancements in technology in terms of Norfolk Southern? What are some changes that might be in the future for NS?

What are some changes that are in the future for NS engines? How would this be a positive advancement?

CSX EMPLOYEES

Do you forsee any advancements in technology in terms of CSX? Was this a positive or negative effect? If negative, what could have been done to change this?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks so much :) Again, if you want this to be kept private, feel free to email me at TheApostle@Local529.com.
