Two items on the Richmond CA Planning Commission agenda for 7 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2005, dealing with proposed new housing at the Richmond Marina . . . on the wrong side of the tracks.

Here's a link to the city's website:

http://www.ci.richmond.ca.us/~planning/hearings/index.html

The Planning Commission hearing will be held at City Hall, 1401 Marina Way South.

There was a considerable amount of discussion earlier in this forum about residents who moved in there earlier complaining about train whistle noise and blocked crossings. Perhaps a few railroad supporters at the hearing could persuade the planning commission to require the developer to give prospective home buyers a realistic appraisal of what they'll encounter when they move in and try to drive across the tracks.

I can't link you directly to a map of the site but if you want to check it out the street address for the project site is 1689 Regatta Boulevard and the meeting location nearby is at 1401 Marina Way South.

AC Transit Route 74 bus serves the hearing site every half hour.
