I'm a steam locomotive buff and I enjoyed tuning
into the www.steamcentral.com for years they kept the steam railfans updated on all kinds of news and excurion schedules. I don't know what happened to this great site? They hung a GONE FISHING sign out in May,2002 and said they plan to return in August1,But they're still not back!! I and alot of other steam enthusiasts really miss this website. I can't think of any other websites so dedicated to the cause.

Hey, Wolv, use a search engine such as askjeeves.com and type in chesapeake and ohio rr.
The C&O historical society has a GREAT website, with lots of info. and downloadable goodies! I'd give you the exact E-address if I could, but I can't find it right now. Another real good one is the Canadian National hist. site. They have very detailed info on all loco. rosters. Including U.S. subsidiaries. Once again, use askjeeves.com
It's free, and it'll give you a wide range of options.

Happy surfing, Todd C.

Hi all. I am really sold on YAHOO! groups. As an example under railway enthusiasts, there are 946 groups! Just this month alone the IC&E group posted 876 posts. Also there are steam and eletrict groups. Under the model train and railroad groups there are 998 listings! Amoung that group listing there are 121 H.O. groups, plus G,O,S,TT,N,an Z scale. If you like rail photography there are 35 groups. So check it out!! Tim

I like
http://transit.toronto.on.ca
which covers the toronto transit system and other transit systems nearby plus GO transit and a bit of the regular railroads.
For city transit buffs, it has lots of photographs and maps and histories.

If you're a CB&Q or AT&SF.history railfan! Look at Bill's Galesburg Journals www.billselleck.net/.

Hi James,

I do know what you mean. I grew up 26 miles from Galesburg. The BN/BNSF was a huge part of my train interests. Before them, there was the CB&Q, which still ran their colors far into the 1970s when I was a kid. I have several of the CB&Q red, gray, and white diesels. DO not even ask me how many BNs I have! LOL!!!

Now, being in Missouri, I have developed an interest in MOPAC. Though, I still have an interest in the trains I grew up with in IL.

Thanks for your contribution.

I visit Bill's site quite frequently, as I am from the Galesburg area. Bill is from Michigan, but I grew up with the trains he writes about and researches. :)

If you can ever get to Galesburg, I recommend attending their Annual RR Days festival. It is something to see!
