On Thursday, I was listening to the radio. The top story in the news was that a poll by the Railway Association of Canada shows that 90% of Canadian prairie residents believe that railroads are the most efficient and environmentally-friendly way of moving freight. It also said that most people want the government to put more money into railroads and have trucks pay the full cost of the damage they do to highways. A guy from CP said a few words on how good this is and how important CP is to Canada. They then mentioned that groups/individuals (no one specific mentioned, though) are looking to restore more passenger services to the prairies. <br /> <br />This is certainly very encouraging to hear! As for that other 10%, well, there'll always be a certain number of idiots wherever you go.
