Overmod tree68 I think I would have seen it as an unread post - nicely highlighted in red. It didn't show up until later. It would show in the list only when 'released' from moderation... but it would appear in the unread-post list according to its original submission date and time, perhaps even as much as a full page up from the 'last read post'. AFAIK the same mechanism applies to posts in an existing thread for users on mandatory moderation, and an implication of this is that moderated users cannot edit their posts once made.

That explains the behavior I saw

Overmod My personal opinion -- someone placed Shadow's owner on mandatory moderation regarding new topics. Remember that when this happens, the official 'posting date' remains when the new topic was made, not when it was released to be seen.

rdamon The other thread did not show up on my list until after I posted the new thread. I have noticed this happen a few times where there is a unread thread 5-6 threads down that should have shown up when I visited earlier. I figured it was a feature :)

Never too old to have a happy childhood!
What's funny is that the other thread is actually the duplicate. I've been noticing that a few times on here, lately. As slow as this forum turns over, and yet people can't scroll down through half a dozen thread titles to see if something is already being discussed.
Duplicate thread.
I would opine they bailed at far less than 80 MPH. They'd be coyote food if they didn't.
Union Pacific just derailed a 55 car iron ore train on their tracks through Cajon Pass. Train ran away from the crew after losing the brakes coming downhill. Crew jumped to survive 27 cars all over the place according to several friends it derailed doing better than 80 mph.
