Sounds like a potential future pickup for Wisconsin & Southern.

I remember when the plant was built. I was involved in the 138kV substation installation that supplied its power. Nice clean new building. Power line followed the new C&NW (now UP) spur built to serve the factory. The only thing constant is change. I see some lots with buildings lbusiness) less than 20 years old torn down and replaced with new ones and I suspect most of you have also.

The Belvidere, IL. Jeep Cherokee assembly plant is being shut down. Production to Mexico. UP freight traffic from Chicago to be gone I presume. The original Galena and Chicago Union rail line, first rail line built from Chicago. I remember when the Belvidere plant first opened in 1965. Built the Plymouth Fury.
