BNSF clerical seniority districts
Posted by NP Eddie on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 2:50 PM

ALL:

I am a retired NP-BN-BNSF clerk from Northtown Yard (Minneapolis) (1966-2004).

What are the present BNSF clerical seniority districts? When I retired in 2004, the 1970 merger districts were still in effect.

ED:  have no specifics for you on this one!  Here  in our area (Mulvane,Ks) all the railroad copmmunications I've heard  seem to eminate from the Ft.Worth Corporate area (Dispatch Center?) . Overheard, via radios in Company vehicles, MOW equipment, and so forth.

Facilities in this area are the Yard and office at the Wellington, Ks. yard. A small 'office' in Mulvane and and the office facilities in the area of the Broadway (St.?) Yard and the 'shared' (w/UPRR) a  maintenance facility, just east of the B'way Yard, in area of North Wichita; that is about it;  until you get to Newton,Ks. (Station, Office, and Engine Fueling Facility.)

I have no knowledge of BNSF and their desires.

On CSX while I was working, CSX was endeavoring to make seniority districts systemwide with dovetailed Seniority Rosters.  Certain crafts fought the initiative.  What has happened since PSR, I have no idea.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

In KS, the closest clerk positions would be in Topeka and Kancks. The "joint" operation in Wichita is the Wichita Term Assn. Those employees are WTA paid workers and on their rosters who work under national labor agreements.                    BN yardmaster seniority lists are: Y972 (Frisco), Y973 (Eastern seniority dist), Y974 (TX seniority dist), Y975 (Central seniority dist), Y976 (Northern seniority dist--likely Ed's dist), Y977 (Western seniority dist).Dispatcher districts: DISP (master roster for all positions), DSFR (former Frisco), DSPR (prior Santa Fe rights), DSSF (former Santa Fe). SF dispatchers are exzempt, BN positions are ATDA. Hope this muddy response can be of help. One other item to note is over the past yr, some BN yard sites have closed (result of PSR) and others have abolished the desk ydmstr position and changed to footboard jobs (like @ Enid).
