Why is tghere no info. on this accident? 9/26/2018 no news briefs no t>v. No news paper reporting this. I understand that families want to be respected in such a trajedy but I think it is important to give some kind of a report .You don`t have to reveal names ,but when both rail and auto traffic is dirupted for hours you would think that some kind of story would be forth coming ? After all this is the information age Not fake news.

Just guessing here, but it could be the local media is keeping it quiet so as not to give any other would-be suicides any ideas.
It's sad and ironic, but several years back after an number of pedestrian strikes New Jersey Transit went on a public safety blitz to try and impress the public, kids especially, just how dangerous trains can be. It worked, accidental pedestrian strikes went down dramatically. Unfortunately, suicides-by-train went up.
Amost as if the suicidal said to themselves "Now WHY didn't I think of that?"

While such a presence may help discourage such actions at that point, those who are truly set on taking their own life will simply find another opportunity.
A few years ago, a young woman apparently took her own life by walking in front of a train in Michigan. That occurred just a short time after another, apparently accidental, death on the tracks a few miles away.
You just never know.

ASHLAND – For the second time since early 2017, a pedestrian has died after being hit by a train near the Fountain Street bridge.
The latest incident happened at approximately 7:28 p.m. on Sunday. The victim’s name was not released. He was trespassing on the right of way, and was hit by a CSX train, according to an email to the Daily News from MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan.
Calls to Ashland police for comment were not returned by the print deadline for this story.
Brendan Petry, a 16-year-old sophomore at Ashland High School, was hit and killed Feb. 27, 2017 by a commuter rail train as he walked the tracks late at night near the bridge. No foul play was suspected, according to MBTA police.
Pamela Rosi lives near the Ashland-Framingham line, not far from the overpass, and said Monday, “Why are people going on the tracks? It’s common sense.”
Rosi suggested more caution signs might help keep the area safer.
A Worcester woman who works near the bridge said she sees people crossing the tracks “all the time” near the Ashland police and fire stations in the town center.
“It’s so easy to do,” she said.
Her co-worker from Hopkinton said he always assumed fatal accidents involving pedestrians and trains occurred in Boston.
“I’m shocked it has happened twice in two years (in Ashland),” he said.

Quite true. New Jersey Transit trains usually hit a pedestrian at least once a month, most likely suicides, but the only reason I know about it here in Virginia is by reading the northern New Jersey newspapers on line.
