Semper Fi, Sam!  You took the words out of my mouth.

As I said in my original post, I'm fully prepared to listen to the reasons why a valuable asset to the Forum community has been banished, essentially for good.

If those responsible are reading my words, and if you have the courage of your convictions, then by all means come forward and give us the what, when, where, why, and how of this sorry episode.

If you don't, well then, what are we to think?

Banned from the community until 2170! What is this, some kind of Monty Python skit?

Did they have a big meeting to determine a sentence of 152 years?

Yes, banning for 152 years seems vindictive, as if for-life would not have been long enough.

Wonder what is so special about that date in particular?  End of the world?  The rapture?  When all alternative timelines converge on a single point dooming the existence of space and time?  When there will finally be a spell-check feature on the forum?

No, it's when Princess Celestia finally has had enough, takes over, and puts the world right!

Zugmann, Lady Firestorm and I know all about this.  The rest of you will just have to do your homework.

OK, Luna's cool, she doesn't take any guff from anyone!

And this is for that fine Scot Wanswheel. Even if he's been silenced I'm sure he can still look in.

Good one Balt!

Firelock-- We need those Water Buffalo fuzzy Bear high hats and march into certain offices in Milwaukee and announce ourselves as the 'Keepers of the Wanswheel' ...And just what is the problem?...maybe dress like the Swiss guard at the Vatican. No pikes though.

We can load up on marshmellows in our pockets.

I suspect most of us don't need marshmellows to 'fill out the uniforms'.

Sounds good Miningman!  You're right though, no pikes.  The pipes and drums alone have been terrifying the enemy for centurys!  "The Ladies From Hell."

Well, maybe a few claymores on hand, just in case...

PS:  Lady Firestorm is NOT amused by this Wanswheel incident...

Well, I've been patient and waited for an explanation long enough.

Never mind I've been a member of the Forum since 2010  with over 8,000 posts.

Never mind I've been a Kalmbach customer since 1990 and a subscriber to "Trains," "Classic Toy Trains,  and "Classic Trains."

Never mind I've puchased plenty of Kalmbach books and videos supporting my local hobby shop.

Obviously someone doesn't think I'm owed an explanation either on the Forum or by private message, even though I stated right out I was prepared to listen and be fair.  Twice.

So be it.  I'll say no more on the matter.  No, I'm not going to cancel subscriptions or throw my Kalmbach products out with the garbage, I enjoy them all too much.

But I AM very, very disappointed.

And for that fine Scot Wanswheel, here's the great Scots Guards with a pibroch, a lament for the fallen.

Did you send a PM to the moderators asking why Wanswheel was banned from the forum?  I would do that.  Don't expect an explanation just because you ask the question here.  I think we would all like to know the reason why he was banned.  I also don't see what he could have done to get banned if he was on moderation status, although I suppose a person could be taken off moderation, repeat the same offense, and then get banned as the last straw.  It sounds like there was a disagreement about the meaning of rules here.  If so, we would might all benefit from a clarification of the rule in question.

Well Euclid, no I didn't.  Maybe I should have, but it seems to me that when something happens here the moderators don't approve of there's a pretty quick reaction, so I assume they're looking in, if not all the time then most of the time.  Certain threads and topics DO seem to get their attention and I assumed this would be one of them.  Maybe I assumed wrong, I'm certainly not infallable.

Maybe I'll try a PM, maybe not.  I haven't decided.

Perhaps when you congratulated everyone for a job well done, the mods just assumed you were satisfied?

Sounded that way to me.

It's just all wrong and the Forums are weakened.

Wanswheel was our best contributor who gave us inspiration and incredible insight. This is not our fault. I have not given up yet.

SoapBox

Folks:  This whole "Banning' of Mike (wanswheel)  certainly, seems to have revealed a side of retribution, that has a horrific oder of rotting Fish. Bang Head

At the very least, I would have thought that Firelock76 (Wayne) would  have been due the courtesy, of at least, a PM ... Kalmbach does, after all, have each of our personal e-mail addresses.

It seems that some sort of interpersonal contact would have been in order.    Judging by the sort of "Salem Witch Trial" effect of banning wanswheel for LIFE PLUS (an ungodly amount of years!  Zip it! )        Simply, because he apparently, rained on someone at Kalmbach's Parade.  Without an explanation, it surel,y seems to have that kind of aire, of a personally, vincictive attack.             It seems to smack of that kind motivation.. Ick!

With no explanation, one has to wonder WHO the next Poster to run afoul of an unknown interpretation of the Forum Rules will be?

Will they be Banned for Life? Have to walk the plank, or simply brought to Milwaukee, and beheaded?  Bang Head

Maybe there's a legal issue involved and Kalmbach has been advised not to comment on it...

I still don't understand what the to-do is about.

If Wanswheel had simply picked up and walked away, would there be this much interest in why?

Because the big, bad administrators seem to be responsible, suddenly it's the mystery of the century.

Don't be so hard on yourself, neither you nor anyone else posting to this thread has failed or erred in any way, shape or form (and that includes Mike).

While the moderator's actions in this case are troubling and certainly deserve an explanation, in the interim there is a simple solution: Mike creates another account with a new email address and goes back to posting, on moderation at first of course.

That worked for me in December, and has worked for Raymond aka "the Ohio River Troll" numerous times.

Go to page 1 of this thread and read Wanswheel's first.

For me it sounds like a copyright infringement. No word that he was banned, just put on moderation.

For this is good enough for me. Do you really expect Kalmbach to explain the reasons? Dream on, they didn't even tell the change of editors at MR.
Regards, Volker

Well, I think some of us need to ask themselves if they were the ones being moderated, would they want the admins to be discussing their predicament (either in public or private) with other forum members? For them to do so would seem highly inappropriate to me.

Further, since we know that Wanswheel has not been banned, he could, if he wished, communicate his situation to any of us either through post, PM, or e-mail.  Since he hasn't, it apprears to suggest he my prefer to remain discrete on the matter.

Some people react differently to being moderated than others. Perhaps he didn't take it as well as others have?  Either way, I suggest it best to respect his privacy and wait for him to come forth, if and when that becomes his priority.
