Tier 4 a change is coming to the class one railroads.
Posted by MATTHEW HASKETT on Saturday, September 5, 2015 8:01 PM

I just read the Locomotive article in the October issue of trains and I am sitting here wondering there is a change coming to the class one railroads. The T4 locomotive's are starting to roll out BNSF is getting them CSX is taking order of there new ones CN has started to get there's and UP has some on order. And the new EMD test locomotives man they look like something that you don't see here in the US but I wonder what western railroad will get that. There's only 2 UP and BNSF. Now you may say he don't like T4 and that might be true. Look at NS they are rebulding there SD60s into SD60Es I believe they are doing over 200 of those. Plus the 100 SD90MACs are being built into SD70ACUs they will not look the same when they come out of Altoona. The most recognizable feature will be the new iso cabs other than that they will be the same they will look like big giant SD70ACe's before it's all over. This is just the start og the T4 game as I like to call it. It will be interesting how the game will be played out over the coming mouths. Feel free to coment about this topic.
