+1
Letterman was a bit too sharp-tongued for my taste.

Carl- It's just a play on words. Stupid Human Tricks is a well known David Letterman routine.
Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.
Not sure why this would be "stupid".I'm sure the railroad didn't operate it at a loss, or in a way that interferes with other operations. If someone has the money to burn in this way, let 'em! It's safe, fun, and might be the catalyst for some future railfans.
I wonder if he got a cab ride and got to blow the whistle?
Excerpt from the Durango Herald, November 7, 2011
Funnyman David Letterman celebrated his son’s birthday Saturday on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
A private train went from Durango to Cascade Canyon – a partial trip that runs in the fall and winter months, said D&SNG owner Al Harper.
Six adults and four kids celebrated Harry Letterman’s birthday, Harper said. Harry turned 8 on Nov. 3.
Harper gave Letterman, 64, a tour of the museum and the roundhouse.
“He could not have been nicer,” Harper said. “Very humble. His wife and family are very outgoing. He’s a little more reserved.”
