I know its not a fancy one, but took a trip on an 'ole workhorse the other day. It was alot of fun and saw some neat stuff. The engineer is an old friend of mine and we were finally able to get our schedules to mesh. I even got to sit at the helm for a bit[:D]. Here's a few pics from that day...This train is the DI (Dakota & Iowa) Railroad that is owned by a large gravel co. Makes trips from Hawarden, IA to Sioux Falls, SD and back to Sioux City, IA, using about 20 miles of the BNSF mainline near Vermillion, SD.

Here's the old workhorse attached to the short train of rock

The 'brains"

Here we go...

Leaving the South plant

passing MOW equip

Passing a long train being filled

Crossing the Big Sioux into South Dakota and looking over at a 6 engine consist( the 6th one is hidden, see next pic)

Now you can see the Rio Grande on the rear

Ill quit boring y'all now, just wanted to show some of the trip-J1[:D]
