Further investigation shows that the 246 miles from Pocatello I'd to Silver Bow MT were converted on July 25, 1887 in just 5 hours. There was a crew every 6 miles and the shortest time for one segment was 3 hrs 43 min. That's 1.6 miles per hour! Those guys were working! The line from Pocatello to Ogden was converted in 1890.

According to the information in http://utahrails.net/ogden/ogden-utah-northern.php the conversion to standard gauge was in 1890.

What year or years was the Utah Northern between Ogden UT and Silver Bow MT converted from narrow guage to standard guage? Thanks!
