NS at Waterloo, In delayed
Posted by blue streak 1 on Thursday, January 22, 2015 4:49 PM

Warehouse fire in Waterloo has haulted all NS traffic on line from Toledo to CHI.  If this closure continue the LSL and Capitol may take extensive delays unless they can divert by the Michigan line.

Given the length of the detour you mentioned, and needing qualified crews, waiting may be the better option.

It's an antique shop right next to the tracks, visible on Google Earth street view. WANE TV had a video. Looks like the building is a gonner.

Last night's (1/22) Eastbound Capitol Limited arrived Toledo 45 minutes late.  The fire could have been the cause of the delay, but 45 minutes late is not remarkable.
