Take a look at the 'Historic Rail' web site -- I believe they have wall maps from different eras available on their site.

You might try contacting DeskMap Services: http://www.deskmap.com/railroad.html

They purchased Railroad Information Services in the mid 1990s.  RIS had published a yearly wall size map, Railroads of the Continental United States.

Early 1990s National Railroad Map?
Posted by NYCSystem on Thursday, January 1, 2015 7:47 PM

I've searched the TRAINS map archives, searched online, and can't find what I'm looking for: A map (preferably PDF) showing the national railroad network as it existed before the merger mania of the 1990s. Thus, the map would include Conrail, Santa Fe, BN, CSX (pre CR), NS (pre CR), Southern Pacific, etc.

Could anyone direct me to the right place? I know something like this must exist, I just can't find it. Surprised the TRAINS archives don't have it. Thanks!
