Tomorrow the 16th of June the CP's 4-6-4 will be leaving Bensenville yard in Chicago in mid morning, traveling up the CP main to Milwaukee, leaving MIlw early afternoon for Portage where I believe it will tie up for the night. Unfortunately while today (15th) is gorgeous sun, tomorrow is supposed to be rain and lightening. Drat! Get out the Kodachrome 200 and hope for the best I guess.....
Then, next week Sunday the 261 comes to Milwaukee on the same line, holds over two days, and leaves Tuesday.

Likely that's all I'll be seeing, but that's better than nothing....
Gotta get live steam wherever you can!

Has anyone noticed how much steam is running in the midwest this summer? We got the 3985 running home through Des Moines, 261 running out of the Quad Cities, 2816 running out St Paul WITH the 261 and TrainFest 2004 in ohio!!!!!WOOHOO. Now, as in sitting here planing out routes heres my questions, 1= How is the 2816 getting out of chicago to milwakee, id like to chase it north and 2=is anyone going out to trainfest in Denison and does anyone have a "lay of the land"(good spots for photos, places to eat, stay, ect.)
Isn't this line the old pensy main line?Any info will help.
LONG LIVE THE ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
