The state of Alaska has already approved for the railroad to start construction, but the Canadian gov is asleep at the wheel and hasn't approved anything yet. However, the govener of Yukon likes the idea of the new railroad!!!!! The new line will begin at the end of the Alaska Railroad mainline in Fairbanks, accross the border to Whitehorse, Yukon, ending in Fort Nelson, BC, the northern point of BC Rail (now CN). Fairbanks to Tok will be built first!!! It is 1,187 miles untouched by any railroad!!!!!!!!!!!!
