Have played the LaCrosse, WI golf course Erik has pictured today several times. It's weird. You tee off the first hole (par 4) over the Chicago-Seattle mainline of the BNSF (single track... maybe 50 yards from the tee). Then, if you're carrying your golf bag, you walk down the fairway right over the track to your next shot. During the course of playing 18 holes, three/four trains often pass. This is the track the Empire Builder, North Coast Limited, and Twin Cities Zephyrs used to travel (after the downtown LaCrosse street running was abandoned). The golf course was originally the Lacrosse Country Club. A few years ago, it was sold to the city and made a public course when a new country club course was built northeast of LAX.

Are there any other places in North America that have odd ROW situations like this?
