I saw those pictures of Children litterally Reclining on the Tracks in Erik's Weekly Train excursion number Six, I litterally couldn't believe that parents would let children like that play on RR tracks like that (assuming there are moderate amonts of traffi on those tracks, based on the RR crossing devices)

At about the same time, Someobdy in Beaconsfield Quebec, Decided to cross the tracks, the 2 CP and 2 Cn lines at that point run parralel with each other and you wind up with 4 high speed corridors, Well, the best anyone can assume was that the person started crossing by the CP side (they probobly already knew the via was comming) crossed the 2 CP tracks went down the ditch, back up the other side and began crossing the Cn tracks.

It is not aparent at that point how the series of events unfolded, but seeing as anyone lacks the ability to tell you how fast a train is going by lloking at it head on, whether he tried to turn around or froze in horror, he was hit about 95 MPH, and if you look at the title Person, nobody really knows if it is a man or a woman.

This affected Cn and CP freight, AMT Commuter Trains and Via Rail service.

I suppose the picture of 2 children relaxing on the tracks encouraged me to post this, because the person was young, Reports say it ahppened around High school ended, and the person could be anywhere form grade 7 to grade 11.

Better Education is necesary... you can't cross the tracks any time you feel like it- I have gone by people walking their dogs on the tracks, letting their kids play on the tracks- I'll msot likely open a window and give them an earful- Remembr, Train tracks aren't a dog walk, and they aren't Disneyland. I've seen parents at the beaconsfield Train Station Talking amongst themselves while they let their kids play on the tracks, Usually if the Engineer won't honk the horn, i'll give it one good blast, and again, let them know that they are doing wrong-

Most pweople have some sort of depth perception, if someone throws a basketball at us, we most asuredly can raise out hands and Try to catch it, most of the time succesfuly. But when your walking on the tracks, And a train is comming head on, and it is in the distance.. rarely can you tell if it'smoving 25MPh 45MPh 65 MPh or 95 MPh, in the distance it all looks the same.

Just remember, if your a parent- wathc your kids if you know there are tracks around, and if your a child reading this.. Find somewhere better to play!
