This <br />form, along with the transfer policy can be accessed in CCBB of the mainframe under JOBFORMS or on the Internet under Jobs, General Information. <br /> <br />Pay Rate: $209.49/day Full, $157.12/day Training Rate <br />Work Hours: Various Shift Work <br /> <br />APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECIEVED BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS APRIL 5, 2004 <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Directs and coordinates the safe movement of railroad treaffic on a specified territory from a central location by planning for movement, issuing permits and authorities and monitoring all movements. Comply with all operating rules, safety rules and applicable federal regulations while maintaining complete computerized records of all train movements, permissions and authorities. Communicates will all level of employees. Occasional travel (Air, Rail, Hi-Rail,Vehicular). Positions could require 2-hour advance notice for reporting to work. High degree of stressful activities working on multiple screens in a windowless environment. Majority of time at work will be spent sitting. Excellent entry level opportunity for management roles within the Operations or Transportation Departments within 3-5 years. Dispatcher Trainees will be required to successfully complete a 9-11 month training program in order to become a Train Dispatcher. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS: Must have keyboard skills of at least 25 wpm. Successful canidates will be able to communicate information and instructions clearly. Applicants should have a good attendance and safety records. Proficiency in multiple tasks essential. Candidates must be able to work well under stress in a windowless environment. An in-depth knowledge of yard and/or road operations is preferred as is prior service as a Dispatcher or Operator. Canidates must be able to work non-standard hours and at times, must respond to 2-hour advance call, which may include variable shifts, overtime, permanent night shifts, weekends or holidays. Must be able to sit for long periods. Good color vision is required. College level education is a plus. Must pass a basic reading comprehension and math test and successfully complete a personality inventory.
