I'm stil trying to decide on going to a class 1 or going with a reginal. The class 1 wages are nice from what I hear, but so is having a life, and spending time with my family. There is a railroad here in Ga, that's a few hours south of me, that I understand is good to work for. Basically, they have scheuled hours like ours, and have sundays off. Personally I like having hours like these where I can go on duty at a set time, work 12 hours if need be, and be able to spend the night in my own house. With this comes sacrifice, usually in the form of wages, when it comes to the smaller rr's. I will soon have a year service with the rr I'm with and am looking to move on due to money and personal reasons. <br />So, how do I ask about benefits and wages? Is rr retirement the same throughout, or does it vary? I would like to make a trip down there one day and talk face to face with someone about possible employement, but I need to know if it will be worth my time. I hate to sound like it's all about money, but I got to make a decent living, and can't do it where I'm at now. Any suggestions on how to go about this?
