<p>Cool photo's, thanks for sharing. There must be an enormous lot of heat involved in it.</p><p>First to get the rail ends up to the correct temperature and than trigger the chemical reaction to do the actual weld.</p><p>I have done some cad welding on 70 mm² copper substation earths, similar principle and sure, very important that the clay sealant doesn't fall off the crucible otherwise a redo and lots of grinding.</p>
