Udo, <br /> <br />As far as MBTA is concerned, there are several <br />good websites that might provide suggestions. <br />I usually just check MBTA timetables and go to <br />areas near the stations. I've heard that MBTA <br />is somewhat tighter about photography on their <br />property, so you might want to check ahead. <br /> <br />As for Guilford, the only area I've been to <br />happens to be a good one, though it's a couple <br />of hours from Boston: South Portland, Maine. <br />It's easy to get to (just off U.S. 1) and there's <br />always plenty of engines and trains as well as <br />some other equipment (plows, etc.). I understand <br />Amtrak also bases the Downeaster trains at South <br />Portland. Finally, if you want to see a nice, <br />small operation, you might want to look at the <br />St. Lawrence & Atlantic near Danville Junction, <br />Maine. <br /> <br />Have fun!
