Just to add to Number 1 <br /> <br />The bell rings in canada for 2 reasons <br /> <br />A) Passing a station ot platform where Passengers are neaby <br />B) passing over crossing that have a whistle -exemption <br /> <br />How does a Canadian crossing get a whistle- Exemption? <br /> <br />A) State of the art grade leevel crossing <br />and B) The grade level corssings must be updated every time a new law is passed requiring an upgrade. <br /> <br />Note: regular crossings withOUT a "whistle exemption" do not have to upgrade their equipment, as they become "grandfathered" in.
