The Super High Topic Viewing Phenomena
Posted by K. P. Harrier on Saturday, December 6, 2003 12:20 PM
Perhaps I am naive, but the abnormally high viewing of some topics is somewhat bewildering, and the curious uninitiated like myself wonder what exactly attracts so many viewers to those topics.

I sure hope the practice in question is not some type of coded communications for terrorists or drug traffickers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- K.P.’s absolute “theorem” from early, early childhood that he has seen over and over and over again: Those that CAUSE a problem in the first place will act the most violently if questioned or exposed.

There is a proverb that states: Better to be thought a fool and say nothing than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. (Unsure what the CORRECT source is. Too many Biblical proverbs have been attributed to the Chinese.) We read the topics to learn, but don't say anything.

Also, trains.com probably attracts thousands of visiters over a weeks time (guessing) so there's likely hundreds that come here.

T.S.H.T.V.P. -- what message could Mister Jump Jet be possibly trying to convey, with an acronym like that ?

Paranoia certainly beats looking over your shoulder, all of the time !

Abraham Lincoln was known for saying that.

I believe that statement did originate with Abraham Lincoln. Although I have heard it assigned to Mark Twainn.

Mark Twain also said the WISEST statement I have ever heard and that is...

"A man who sets out to carry a cat by its tail will learn a lesson that will remain with him all his days, and will never grow dim with age..."

   Have fun with your trains

Mookie would rather he said "give a cat pills" instead of referring to the tail. The end result is always the same!

MlaM...

I tried some of those cat pills. They taste awful, and no matter how many times I tried I kept landing on my big fat butt instead of my feet. What a waste of money......shouldn't have cancelled my subscription to vi......

See, where all people who are so board because we have no one else to converse with about trains, that we write things on this forum, and then read our own responses twenty times, and converse with people on the boards, and hope they write back. we all also stress to improve our member rank, and by the time we have the four gold stars we have gotten so used to the forum that we have to be on it at least 8 hours a day.

This could be one of those topics.
It has all the ear marks. What would happen if everyone dipped into the sherry all at once?

When I was 9 years old a neighbor had a cat that waited in the bushes for some unsuspecting little kid to walk by. Bang! out he'd jump at you as you walked by and he'd bite you as hard as he could on your ankle. There'd be a banshee scream and you'd see the kid with the cat latched onto an ankle jumping around the front yard.

That went on for a whole summer. My parents and all the other kids parents talked with that dim wit neighbor to no avail.
I HAD, HAD IT WITH THAT CAT!
Finally one day when that cat jumped out at me ( JENNY, READ NO FURTHER)

I can tell you what happens when you pick up a cat by its tail, and there is a lesson that will remain with you all your days, and will never grow dim with age!!!

HEAR ME MY FRIENDS!

There is a saying in the jet fighter world that goes something like this:
"In a dog fight, energy is life, always keep your energy up"

Centrifugal force can not be overcome by a cat. As long as you keep your energy up the cats claws will always point in the direction of potential flight. At the right time, after hitting max. velocity, you release the cat. Just be sure the neighbors picture window isn't within the potential trajectory. It also helps if said neighbor isn't looking out of the picture window at the same time the cat goes through it.

Soo the fighting blue

ps,
the cat lived but never was seen out doors again. I lived but couldn't sit down for a while.

Oh Soo - I did have to smile at this, but I adhere to a strict policy - cat's should remain indoors. Mook never goes out except to the nice kitty doctor. But my point is - besides on the top of my head - humans are involved in every aspect of this story. A human let the cat out, a human picked up the cat, a human had to have a picture window when just a nice small window would have sufficed! However a good human planted the seed of knowledge firmly on the seat of the problem.

And my thinking is this was a female cat - (I will be ejected from the NOW group for that) Males are usually pretty good natured and calm (especially neutered ones) - while females seem to be sewed a little too tight - but doesn't that follow .... gonna be quiet now while I am still ahead of the game.

Hey Jen!
Could have been a female. She had a high pitched voice. [8)]
I got into so much trouble for that [:(] just as much as when I shot an arrow into the roof of our next door neighbors house. Come to think about it, It was just as bad as when I drove a golf ball through that same neighbors bedroom window.[:I][:I][:I]
