All those factory, high tech, accounting, and engineering workers loosing thier jobs will not be able to buy stocks or invest in 401k's, if the current jobs erosion continues you are going to see the market eventually collapse or shrink tremendously, no one wants to hear this, but you don't have to be Miss Cleo to see this coming. I blame both Democrats and Republicans for NAFTA and GATT, the sooner people realize we the middle and working classs have no representation the quicker we can end the decline of the USA and the middle class. Bush is doing his best to expand free trade to more countries. Look at how Democrats and Republicans are fighting limiting welfare to illegal immigrants in Arizona , even though 70 % of the population supports stoping handouts to folks who have no business being here in the first place!!!. If people spent half the amount of time they spend watching reality TV or Sports, watching the Democrats and Republicans they would be shocked to see what they are doing to this country from the federal level on down.
[/quote]

The problem is much more deep rooted than that, it goes all the way to the core of america's economy, and the "wall street" business model. Think for a moment about those lazy, good for nothing, " contribute nothing to the productive work flow" stockholders sitting at the top of the economy doing jack besides clipping dividend cupons? At least with the robberbarons of old (Jay Gould, etc) they got up each day and did a days work towards their commited endeavor.

Now what you have is lazy people sitting on their *** expecting a paycheck for doing nothing.

Seems like this was a key criticism we had for communism, and lo and behold we have become the very beast we once condemned so profoundly
