best season, really

What difference does it make what season it is ?

Are you saying it's like trying to name a favorite child? They're all great so why try? I agree, but I'd much rather be out there on a 65 degree fall day in Illinois or Wisconsin as opposed to a 30 degree winter day.

Perhaps using a season to describe a favorite time to do trains is too broad a time period. How about defining one's favorite weather conditions, or time of day.

Bergie says he'd rather be out on a 65 degree day in the fall, but if it's cloudy and windy, and the 30 degree day consists of lots of fresh, white snow, and bright blue skies, I would rather be out in the snow. Of course, that's just my preference. But if the fall day is sunny with light breezes, and the 30 degree day is cloudy and windy, for me the choice is the fall day.

So for me, the weather (partly cloudy, light winds), early morning or late evening, is my favorite "season".
