Wrecks, Part 1
Posted by rogerhensley on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 9:14 AM
After a long summer of staying busy with house remodeling, I have begun updating the RRofMadCty web site with photos and stories. I have just added the first part of Maurice Lewman's 'Wrecks and Derailments' on the Big Four Michigan Division to the Memory Pages. Part one covers the Division south of Anderson. As I scan more photos and drawings, I'll add part 2 and possibly a part 3 covering the nothern part of the Michigan Division.

Just follow the Memory Page link at: http://madisonrails.railfan.net/

Wow! That's Cool! I wish my website looked that professional! Well, time to get editing.

I spent a lot of time near the Big Four Yard as a kid and I have to say that was awesome! Could you tell me how you got permission as I'd love to go take a tour myself!

Wow! A very excellent site! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I was very impressed with just how extensive the site was. I'll visit again often. Also, I liked the AC4400CW in NYC colors, Lionel actually produced a NYC SD-80MAC with matching passenger cars last year.

The Road Foreman (of Engines) had a lot to do with our getting permission to visit Avon Yard. The key was staying out of the way and making our visit on a slow day. That took a little of the fun out of it, but it was worth the trip.

It didn't hurt that I was with a retired Engineer. That made all of the difference as I would not have been able to get permission on my own.
