Excursion over Tennessee's oldest branchline

Ride vintage late 1940's equipment over Tennessee's oldest branchline during the 150th. birthday celebration of Wartrace, Tennessee, a junction on the CSX Nashville-Chattanooga mainline. Excursions will run three times on Saturday October 4th. and twice on Sunday afternoon October 5th. Tickets are $7.50 roundtrip for adults and $3.50 for children. Tickets will be sold trackside the days of the excursions. Trains will operate over the Walking Horse & Eastern Railroad (former N&C Shelbyville branch) to a working Tennessee Walking Horse farm and return. The birthday festival includes a Civil War re-enactment of the Tullahoma Campaign with over 2,500 participants. Music, food, rides for the kids, an L&N Railroad historical exhibit and an L&N caboose will all be on hand for the event. CSX dispatches 20 to 25 daily trains through the heart of Wartrace's town square.
