BNSF boss says transport system nearing crisis

Combines nowadays are pushing 30,000lbs. No matter how big the tires, mud is mud. If you get stuck you end up breaking stuff. <br /> <br />Semis (in my area anyway) are allowed to go down any road as they're hauling out of the field (picking up) or delivering (ag lime for example). <br /> <br />And there will always be a need for elevators away from barge/rail terminals. Not everybody hauls their grain straight out of the field to the terminal. Most store it and whoever doesn't store it on farm has to take it to an elevator for storage.
