Maps of Railroad tracks.
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 18, 2003 10:59 AM
I wonder if anyone could help me out here. I would like to have a map or atlas that shows all the railroad tracks. I would like one for america, but will settle for just my state PA. I am not looking to invest more than say 20-30$. Is there anywhere I can find these maps.

I have an atlas and gazetter for PA< it shows rails, but you need a microscope to see them, and they are also old as dirt, it shows Penn Central days.

Let me know.

Thanks alot

Try one of SPV's (Steam Powered Videos) atlas books for the PA area. They aren't perfect, but they should be information overload for Silvio. About $20 www.spv.co.uk

Next, we'll work on his sense of humor!

Try getting a newer Gazetter. They have gotten better. I have updated my 'files' and have made a trip from Council Bluffs straight into Chicago without much difficulty. But they are $20 bucks a pop though. Thought i would let you know.

If you are looking for the current railroad lines. My suggestion would be the Delorme Maps. They are available for every state, I think. Or the Delorme Street Atlas CD-ROM is available with the entire country. The maps on the CD-ROM show the railroads quite well. They are usually pretty accurate.
