You have it sooo right. So many of the politians at the time thought they could use the liquidation of Amtrak as a way to show they could save the taxpayers some money. Suprise, more goes into every other form of moving people than Amtrak. Yes, there are self appointed people out there who claim to be experts and will use any figure to 'prove' that rail travel is obsolete. <br />Now we have seen that rail passenger service is needed both nationally and locally in America. <br /> <br />You're right, liquidate the Reform Council, they're not making a profit for America, only themselves.
