What's the difference between a AC4400CW and an AC4400CTE ?

I love the smell of ALCo smoke in the Morning. "Long live the 251!!!" I miss the GBW and my favorite uncle is Uncle Pete. Uncle Pete eats Space Noodles for breakfast.

Software. That is the only diff. between them. It means CONTROLLED TRACTIVE EFFORT. GE started putting this in because the regular AC's were breaking drawbars to many times and UP wanted something that would control this. Correct me if I'm wrong, put I believe this only works when its in DPU mode. So I hope that info helps.
