The CN SD70M-2 is the DC version of the SD70ACE. Just like the ones that Norfolk Southern has purchased. <br /> <br />I don't know about that cab design. It grows on you but then you compare it to the previous versions of EMD cabs such as the Phase 2 stlye on late SD70M's and you wonder why and how it got off the drawing board. I believe that the straight window was more of a cost cutting feature. Making it easier to produce the cab. I think that CN wouldn't pay for a new design and went with an off the shelve model when selecting the options for these units. The series will be 8000-8019 for now. CN has only ordered 20 in the first batch. Also, notice the rear photos showing the logo on the rear up just below the roof line which is different than previous paint schemes.
