What's so special about Big Boys?

Dear Old Timer, <br />While tender weight doesn't count for tractive effort, it does come into play when we are just trying to find "largest." No railroad ever wanted the largest (though the published when they had it). The "largest" award is strictly one railfans care about. <br /> <br />On the internet and in books, there are so many contradictory specifications that when you see something official-looking, you go with it. I appologize if the above specifications were innacurate. <br /> <br />Once again, we are seeing N&W fans versus UP fans. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br />Daniel Parks
