Daylight Colors

What would everyone think if we could talk Amtrak into painting up a set of P42's and a set of Superliner coaches in the old SP Daylight colors for the Coast Daylight and Coast Starlight trains between L.A. and Seattle. I think it would be FANTASTIC [:D]

Well, it woudl be beautiful.. But it would be a problem about interchanging equipment as needed with other superliner trains. Also, the only train today is called Coast Starlight ( yes, I remember the names from yesteryear,Lark and all).ALso, when you said "coaches" did you mean literally just the coaches and not the diner , sleepers, etc? Guess you were using the word broadly as in "railroad passenger cars"

I think that it is a cool idea! It would be nice to see the daylight colored cars and engines running on the same trackage that the Daylight itself always traveled.

I'd like to see the Daylight colors [:)]. Those Daylights are the best donuts ever made. We're talking donuts, right?

Oh, you mean the Daylight train colors [;)]. Yeah, that'd be cool!

OH YEAH ! Heck, I'd probably even donate to such a WORTHY cause !

Red and Orange rides again, way better than cool, that would be "The Hot Setup".

Feature an MP 36 decked out like that . . . Er, ah, well, maybe not.

I'd like to know What is the most scenic part of the route?
Could Doyle Mccormack & eng #4449 be available to pull the train in that section? How about a run from Portland up the Columbia to Spokane? It would be so cool to have a west coast version of the New River train!

Doyle usually does that via the BNSF and he paints the 4449 black with BNSF decals on the tender. And the only dull spot on the Coast Starlight run is when it makes its run up the Sacramento valley.
